poor instructions January 22, 2006 Reviewer:  bobcat (Philadelphia, PA United States)  See all my reviews >

the instructions are short and just not well written. one picture instructs and shows the finger guard being used backwards. (the product picture in the online photo is correct.)

Not the best Mandolin slicer out there... June 10, 2006 Reviewer:  DMC (NYC)  See all my reviews >

This is not the best of Mandolin slicers. My other one has an acrylic catch-all bin which collects the sliced food and makes for a neater experience. It has more accessory blades as well. I prefer it over this model. The stand on this one is unstable, not a good thing as you are slicing rapdily. The slices go everywhere, what a mess. For about the same price you can find a better design for sure.

Wow, what a terrible purchase May 15, 2007 Reviewer:  Disappointed Daughter "Monica C" (Ohio)  See all my reviews >

I don't know what I am more disappointed in, that I couldn't give this item 0 stars or in the item itself. First of all, poor directions - if any... I couldn't even slice a tomato with this! Big waste of money. I gave the item to my mother as one of her Christmas gifts and I just tried it at her house on mother's day. She said she had tried it some time ago but didn't want to tell me it didn't work too good since I was excited about giving it to her. I thought it would be a big help but it was more of a pain than anything! Don't buy this product!!!

Keep Looking February 25, 2008 Reviewer:  jellowiggles (Glen Carbon, IL, USA)  See all my reviews >

I got it for the interchangeable blades, but I tried several different settings and I was never able to cut onions or bell peppers. The product is as useless as the instructions that came with it-not very good.

Good for the price February 17, 2008 Reviewer:  LI Baker (Long Island, NY)  See all my reviews >

I had asked for a mandoline that had multiple blades and received this one for the holidays. I didn't want anyone to spend a lot of money getting a fancy one, as I would only use it occassionally (prepping fruit for baking and vegetables to use in salads or to fry),and was surprised that this one worked as well as it did. While I was surprised that it came with no directions (that I could find) other than it being dishwasher safe), I found it easy to figure out and use). I used it the other day to slice apples for a tart, and it cut them thinly with little force or effort. I placed a plate underneath it in between the stand and front, and had no problem with stabilty. I am surprised by the negative reviews, as for the price I have found this to be a good product: easy to use, does the job well, and easy to clean.

#1 MOST TERRIBLE GADGET January 25, 2009 Reviewer:  Miss Kitchen "Less J" (Fl)  See all my reviews >

This is the absolute worst kitchen gadget, deserve no rating, no stars. One piece of paper with not much valuable instructions just pictures of vegetables and the gadget. Very dangerous equipment, mess everywhere, false advertising. Tried carrots, potatoes and bell peppers on it and it was disgusting and horrorible, that hand guard thing couldn't even hold the carrot steady. Please don't waste your time and buy this product. You are better off cutting and slicing yourself.
